Magic mirror modules funny1/16/2024 #1: No module captures that "oooo I gotta run this!" feel in me, save 2. Hmm, perhaps I'll add to this list later. A1-A3 are brilliant but A4 is a totally dissatisfying denoument. If A4 was a stand-alone competition module I might be kinder to it. Killing off the party and then bringing them back to life when a simple speak with dead spell is ridiculous. If the PCs are defeated by the Slave Lords, there's a dozen better ways to end things - including a TPK. I too loathe Beyond the Magic Mirror and Dungeonland, but I like S3 Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. Now T1 Village of Hommlet I love - but not T1-4. The story behind/between Q1 and T1-4 is long and convoluted but if you dig around the Greytalk boards, Canonfire, and the Greyhawk forum here you should be able to piece it together, somewhat. A few of those reasons tie in to the next on the list. Q1 Queen of the Demonweb Pits is on my list for many reasons, which are too numerous to mention here. I must admit I was never a huge fan of C2 Ghost Tower of Inverness, either. 'course with some reworking and putting 'em in the Bright Desert or even the Sea of Dust on Greyhawk they're not terrible. I was never that crazy about the Desert of Desolation series (I4, I5, I6). And I say that only because I know Len Lakofka got told to stuff it when he said he had more things he wanted to put in there. Still, it's an introductory module (and for Basic) so perhaps we can give it a "pass". The entierty of the Dragonlance series, also called "Welcome to the game, here's your script." I had a couple of DMs over the years try to run me through their "KEWL" DL modules.feh.
